Afternoon of 11 October, the Organization of the First international Seaport Festival held the meeting on the progress of implementation. Mr. Ho Van Nien - Deputy Chairman chaired the meeting.
According to the report, subcommittee basically completed their tasks such as: implementation plan, budget estimates, personnel organization, etc… However, the majority of the subcommittees agreed that it was hard with implementation funds since this used socialization funds; therefore, it should not be used the budget. The finance subcommittee said this subcommittee along with the LOMA Company as the host also had to seek funding, including ports and enterprises outside the ports, but faced problems, so most of these units denied financing. LOMA Company said, up to this time the amount of funding promised by businesses was around VND3.7 billion.
After the report of LOMA Company and the subcommittees, Mr. Ho Van Nien stressed that if it faced difficulties in mobilizing funds, then the content of the Festival should be shortened, including reducing the size of the auxiliary programs to reduce costs. In particular, if the financial situation was limited, the International Port Festival should be delayed to the quarter I or II of 2013.
