On September 7th, 2022, in Phu My Town, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, Tan Cang – Cai Mep Joint Stock Company under the system of Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) successfully organized the ceremony of receiving the Third-class Labor Medal and 15th traditional anniversary (October 14th, 2007 – October 14th, 2022).
The ceremony was honored to have delegates: Nguyen Thi Yen, Deputy Secretary of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee; Le Hoang Hai, Vice Chairman of the People’s Council of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province; Nguyen Cong Vinh, Vice Chairman of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial People’s Committee; Vice Admiral Mai Xuan Vinh, former Navy Commander; Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Huyen, former Secretary of the Party Committee, former Political Commissar of the Navy; leaders, former leaders of Saigon Newport Corporation through the periods; representatives of departments of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, the Ministry of Transport, Vietnam Maritime Administration, military and police units in the area; representatives of shipping lines, shipping agents, joint ventures, associates, customers, couriers and related units…
Tan Cang – Cai Mep Joint Stock Company, which was established on October 14th, 2007, is an operator unit of Tan Cang – Cai Mep Container Terminal (TCCT) – the first deep-water port in Vietnam, contributing to mark a major breakthrough in the history of SNP’s port operation and create a premise for TCCT to exert not only its role but also the position of the logistics industry and Vietnam’s seaport on the path of development and international integration.
Implement the policy on strategic goals “Association – Joint venture cooperation expansion; Service quality improvement and Effective business” during 15 years of establishment and development, TCCT has become an important key chain in the port and logistic ecosystem of SNP, contributing to the socio-economic development of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province.
Through 15 years of constant efforts, TCCT has gradually affirmed its prestige and brand value in seaport service operations, logistics services and cargo handling services. Up to now, TCCT has invested and upgraded infrastructure, reaching the capacity to operate vessels of up to 145,000 DWT at the main berth, and 2,200 DWT ships/barges at the barge berth; exploit and expand 12,000m2 warehouse area; cooperates with Tan Cang – Vung Tau Logistics Joint Stock Company to own a fleet of over 50 tractors and provide services for customers and partners such as Hyosung, Samsung, Long Son Petroleum…
In 2020 – 2021, despite being heavily affected by the Covid-19 epidemic and the general impact of the global socio-economic situation, with the motto “Association – Joint venture cooperation expansion; Service quality improvement and Effective business”, TCCT maintains a strong growth rate (revenue in 2021 increased by nearly 40%; profit increased by nearly 29% compared to 2020). In 2021, TCCT successfully received and released 65 international vessels and 235 domestic vessels/barges carrying equipment, with a total throughput of nearly 380 thousand tons of cargo of 16 wind power projects, ensuring an absolute safety and on schedule for domestic and international investors and general contractors.
In the field of cooperation to optimize capacity, in 2020 and 2021, TCCT actively signed a cooperation agreement with KCTC Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Ba Son Corporation as well as other investors and general contractors in order to deploy handling, loading and unloading a number of vessels carrying factory project cargoes and performing full-time logistics services for factories and businesses in Ba Ria – Vung Tau and neighboring provinces. In March 2022, TCCT continued to cooperate with KCTC Vietnam Co., Ltd., to open Tan Cang – Cai Mep Terminal B, with an area of 6.8 hectares of warehouse. In the context that deep-water ports in Thi Vai – Cai Mep area are increasingly attract a number of services, routes directly connecting the US and Europe, TCCT’s strategy of cooperation, joint venture and sustainable association will aim to developing full-service logistics and ancillary services, promptly meeting the needs of customers and shipping lines, which increasing the efficiency of business operations.
In addition to performing economic and defense tasks, TCCT has always performed well the duty of the
Tan Cang Cai Mep garrison group; actively participating in mass mobilization activities, respect, nurture and taking care for 10 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.
At the ceremony, under the authorization of the Prime Minister, Naval Officer Luong Viet Hung awarded the Third Class Labor Medal to Cai Mep Newport Joint Stock Company; People’s Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province awarded Certificates of Merit to the company and 4 individuals; Saigon Newport Corporation rewarded 5 collectives and 12 individuals with excellent achievements. This is an award to recognize the efforts, contributions and outstanding achievements of Tan Cang Cai Mep, contributing to improving the reputation and brand of Saigon Newport.
Under the leadership of the Navy, the leaders of the SNP; the attention of leaders of central ministries and branches and Ba Ria – Vung Tau province; Tan Cang – Cai Mep Joint Stock Company will continue to become a typical enterprise of SNP in the field of logistics services, which has project cargoes handling; and the container port system in Cai Mep – Thi Vai area, raising the brand reputation on the world shipping map, becoming a key logistics center in the region connecting the global supply chain.
