In the afternoon of Oct 11th, Organizing Board of the 1st International Seaport Festival held a meeting to listen the progress of assigned duty. Mr. Ho Van Nien – Vice Chairman of provincial People’s Committee chaired the meeting.
According to the report, subcommittees basically finished its works such as: establishing plan and foresee expense, holding human resource etc. However, most of subcommittees supposed that festival’s activities met many difficulties due to lack of money. The festival is event that use socialized expense, therefore, can not use local budget. Sponsor subcommittee together with LOMA company (the host) mobilize sponsor from enterprises in and out of ports but most of them refused due to general economic difficulty. Up to now, the sponsored expense is about 3,7 bln VND.
After listening to the report from LOMA company and subcommittees , Mr. Ho Van Nien emphasized that Organizing Board of the festival can shorten content, simplify secondary programs to reduce expense. Especially, moving time for festival to the 1st or 2nd quarter of 2013 in case needed.
