Report of the 3rd VPA Main Meeting
Phan Thiet City
29 - 30 November 2001
- Pursuant to Te VPA Annual Meeting held on
5-6 November 2000 in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh
Province, The 4th VPA Main Meeting was hosted
by Ben Nghe Port on 29 - 30 November 2001 in
Phan Thiet City.
- The Meeting was attended by 80 delegates
from 32/34 members ports. List of Delegates
appears as Annex I.
- The Meeting warmly welcome to

The Meeting was also attended by representatives
of sponsors such as Liebherr, Unico Handles,
KE/MP, Intraco Limited.

The Meeting received congratulatory flower
basket of CIENCO 6

Before opening the Meeting, all delegates
and guest visited and paid floral tributes
to Uncle Ho at the historical Duc Thanh School,
Phan Thiet.

Following the introduction part of Organizer,
Mr. Tran Van ON, chairman of 3rd Executing
Committee in the term of 1999 - 2000 read
the report.

Meeting warmly welcome new members in 2001
as Cua Viet Port, Ba Ngoi Port, Ky Ha Quang
Nam port.

Mr. Huynh Hong Vu, VPA General Secretariat
read the report on VPA activities in the last
term and proposed plans and budgets in 2002.

Pursuant to the ideas of 3rd Executing Committee,
The Meeting approved the term of Executing
Committee was 3 years instead of 2 years
-
Pursuant to the report at preparatory meeting
on 28 September 2001 at office of Saigon Port,
The Meeting agreed unanimously to add
2 members in the 4th Executing Committee.
Therefore, the 4th Executing Committee will
have 11 members instead of 9 ones in 3rd Executing
Committee.

Meeting accepted the proposed methods to advice
to the State, applying the fixed charges for
each area according to integrating route, combining
with related government authorities to stable
market prices and compete brightly between ports
in each area, reforming administrative management
and utilizing information industry.
To adjust the tariff charges, The Meeting urged
the solidarity and cooperation of member ports
to committee and to implement tariff charges
promulgated by the State and Association.
